Better not. Reviews can be bought and many clinics manage them as advertising. We choose qualified clinics, inspect them in person and check the dentists on the official Albanian register.
Why not choose the cheapest clinic?
Because compared with Italy you are already saving a lot. Risking poor materials or an unverified dentist for a 500 euro difference is not worth it: redoing the work costs far more.
What happens if something goes wrong?
In Albania the dental market works differently from Italy: professional liability insurance is not a legal requirement for every dentist and clinic. That is why we bind our partner clinics with a written contract setting out rules, guarantees and procedures: if there is a problem we step in, and you are not left alone facing a country outside the European Union.
Is it worth acting now?
Albania is a candidate to join the European Union. With membership, costs could rise. The price of your treatment stays the one in the written quote you approve.
What is MedBridge?
An international healthcare coordination service. We analyse your case, request a treatment plan from selected partner clinics and guide you at every stage. We do not sell treatments: we organise, explain and coordinate. The clinical side stays with healthcare professionals.
Is it safe to have treatment in Albania?
It depends on the clinic, exactly as in Italy. That is why we only work with clinics we have selected, and we give you the tools to check the dentist and the materials yourself. Albania has adopted the voluntary ISO 22525 standard on medical tourism: it is a useful reference, but being voluntary it does not mean every clinic applies it.
How much does it cost in the end?
In total you pay two items: the clinic's quote, which depends on the treatment and which you receive in writing before deciding, plus the fixed-price MedBridge package (€300, €380 or €480). No other charges from us.
What if I receive the quote and don't go ahead?
The quote does not commit you: you decide if and when to go ahead. The payment terms of the package, including what happens if you stop after buying it, are given to you in writing before any payment.
How long does it take?
It depends on the treatment and is stated in the treatment plan. Implants, for example, usually require more than one trip, because a healing period is needed between placing the implant and fitting the final crown.
How do I pay?
The package is paid to MedBridge, the treatment to the clinic according to the quote. Payment methods and timing are given to you in writing before you travel.
How do I check who will treat me?
The dentist's name is given to you after the clinic is chosen and the package is confirmed. With that name you check the licence yourself on the official Albanian register (USSH), before you travel.
What if I have a problem after I get home?
Write to us: we coordinate with the clinic according to the guarantees written in the quote. With the Standard and Premium packages you get remote follow-up for 30 or 60 days; with Premium we also coordinate the check-up in Italy.
Can I deduct the cost?
You receive an invoice that you can use for the 19% medical expense deduction in Italy, under the conditions set by law. We tell you which documents to keep for your tax return.
Why can't I find the clinic's name on the website?
The names of the clinic and the dentist are given to you after the clinic is chosen and the package is confirmed. Before you travel you know exactly where you are going and who will treat you.
